Exhibition: The heroes of everyday

We see and use them constantly, they improve our everyday lives in many different ways, they existe in huge amounts and we are so used to their consumption and neutral to their existence that we stopped asking ourselves of their origin and history. Objects like zippers, bulbs, hangers, tee bags, sticking plasters, bottle caps, clothes pegs are just some of the classics, so brilliant in their simplicity and functionality that they survived years in same or similar forms and preserved their original functions.

36 of this objects are a part of the exhibition called “Secret heroes. The genios of everyday things” opening on 7th of July in Gewerbemuseum, Winterthur. Each one of the showpieces will be displayed in a multimedial case containing its developing history, production background together with patent regulations and drawings of the inventors.
